I work online with clients in the UK and internationally, particularly across Europe. Before we begin, I will confirm that my professional insurance covers your location and check any relevant local requirements.
Common Questions
What you may want to know before we begin
What if I need urgent or crisis support?
My practice is not an emergency service, so messages may not be read immediately. For urgent mental health support in Scotland, call NHS 24 on 111. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 999 or go to A&E. Samaritans are available free on 116 123.
What can counselling support me with?
Anxiety, depression, neurodiversity or loss may help describe part of your experience, but no label can capture who you are. Counselling offers space to explore what lies beneath, increasing awareness of your needs, relationships and ways of responding.
Who can access counselling?
I work primarily with adults, while enquiries involving children or young people are considered individually. For anyone under 18, consent, confidentiality, safeguarding and parental involvement will be discussed before counselling begins.
How are payments, cancellations and counselling arrangements agreed?
Before counselling begins, I will send you an agreement covering payment, confidentiality, safeguarding, cancellations and what we can expect from one another. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice when cancelling. Less notice usually requires half the session fee, while missed prepaid appointments count towards the agreed block.
How is my counselling kept safe, ethical and confidential?
I am a registered BACP member, working within its Ethical Framework. My practice is professionally insured, ICO registered and supported by monthly clinical supervision plus ongoing professional development. Personal information is stored securely, with confidentiality and its limits explained before we begin. The BACP requires members to protect client privacy, explain foreseeable limits and work to appropriate professional standards.
